FURUNO DFF3D MULTI-BEAM SONAR

Finally Capt Tez had some time to pen his views on the super Furuno DFF2D review. “I love the unique motion sensing technology, it changes the game for us”

Revolutionary new Furuno DFF3D for sale - black box sonar for their NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2 multi-function displays.

Although other manufacturers have been offering this capability for the past few years, the difference is that Furuno has come to the table with a robust commercial grade capability making this a game changer. It’s for the avid and most serious fishermen who need this tried and tested fresh & shallow capability ready for their adventures to the deep.

Furuno has been working on this multi-beam sonar product for the past few years, perfecting the Furuno DFF3d. Engineers have worked hard on tweaks to make its performance superior in all-weather condition out in the ocean and over the seas.

The units are designed to dynamically be able to control the ocean waves and movements. Yaw, pitch and rolling ebbs. The objective was to develop a product that flattened the real-time imaging so that the user has a super clear vision of the picture-perfect, wide-angle of what was going on down under in exact real time. The ability to perform in depths of up to 100 fathoms plus. By using a lower 165 kHZ transmit frequency it enables beams beams to infiltrate into deeper water - Furuno have achieved the best results around. The DFF3D provides a real-time, 120-degree port-to-starboard view of the seabed and water underneath which in turn enables the anglers to find fishing grounds and find deep water fish faster than a single beam depth sounder.

The 800W/165 kHZ transiever permits the main beam of the transducer to go down deeply and directly underneath the water /vessel and the beam has a degree of 20 to depths of over 1,000 feet (dependant on water situations.) The built-in motion sensor in the Furuno dff-3d transducer flattens and steadies the screen view display showing exact , clear and detailed images in all-weather conditions including big seas. The 3part cross section within the screen shows the realtime sea column adds up to a total of 120 degrees coverage. This provides important info and data to instantaneously comprehend the spreading of the baitfish and the size or amount of the schools within the water column. Having this real time knowledge will tell the captain where to drop the bait or jigs, identify the fish above a wrice and place lures in correct position and hang on. Be prepared to be surprised.

The Furuno DFF-3D has the choice of four simple screens which can all be customised to suit the captain. The Crosssection mode aids in instantly understanding where the baitfish are and water column conditions. The 3D Sounder History mode is great to use in a diversity of circumstances, e.g. it selects hotspots for fish while also evaluating the seabed condition, searching for rocks, wrecks, or reef finding loads of gamefish. The third Triple Display screen helps to appreciate location of the fish depth as well as the bottom oceanbed conditions in each direction along with the direction these targets are travelling Each of these beam angles and beam widths are able to be customised by the user

Use the Furuno DFF3D with any of Furuno's newest generations of touch screen MFD’s Works exceptionally with the TZtouch and TZtouch2 models. Blackbox simply adds onto your vessels existing electronics fitout.
