Technical Consultation

Planning a new marine electronics system, upgrading existing equipment or trying to sort out compatibility problems? A technical consultation gives our technicians the information they need to recommend a system that suits your boat and how you use it.

When to Use a Technical Consultation

A technical consultation is the right starting point when you need help with:

  • Selecting a chartplotter, sounder or transducer
  • Planning an autopilot or radar system
  • Upgrading or integrating existing electronics
  • NMEA 2000 networking and compatibility
  • A new electronics fit-out or major refit
  • Diagnosing an ongoing marine electronics problem

How It Works

  1. Tell us about your boat, existing electronics and what you want the system to do.
  2. Our technicians assess the setup, compatibility and your boating or fishing requirements.
  3. We recommend suitable equipment across the major marine electronics brands.
  4. Shotgun Marine can prepare a quote and supply the selected system.
  5. Professional installation can be provided through Port Macquarie Marine Services where required.

Practical Multi-Brand Advice

We work across Garmin, Furuno, Raymarine, Simrad, B&G, Hella Marine, Coursemaster and other supported brands.

We are not here to push one brand because of commissions. The recommendation should suit your boat, fishing or cruising, budget and existing electronics.

What to Send Us

Please include as much of the following as you can:

  • How you use the boat
  • Your current electronics
  • Engine or steering details where relevant
  • The problem you are trying to solve
